Mozart’s classic comedy comes roaring to life with a fresh interpretation. Artistic Director Jonathan Eaton adds contemporary flair to this timeless 18th century masterpiece. Sophisticated seduction and delightful deceptions are just half the fun. The humor is complemented with some of the greatest ensembles ever written, a dazzling overture, and divine arias.

Let Johann Strauss take you to the most lavish party of the holiday season. Opulence abounds in Jonathan Eaton’s gilded new production. A masked ball opens the door for a hilarious series of mistaken identities, misplaced flirtations, and some surprise star entertainers. This New Year’s favorite will have you waltzing in the aisles.

Opera Theater presents Lost in the Stars, Kurt Weill’s poignant music drama based on Alan Paton’s internationally acclaimed novel –
Cry, the Beloved Country
–adapted by Maxwell Anderson. Hailed as “profoundly moving” by The New York Times, Lost in the Stars examines apartheid in South Africa through the eyes of two fathers who each tragically lose a son in an ongoing cycle of injustice and inequality. Conducted by the incomparable Julius Rudel.
